Latterbarrow

By Lakeland standards, Latterbarrow isn't very high, but when you look out from the top you might well think you are looking out from the summit of a proper mountain. Minimum effort; maximum return! Take the footpath south out of Outgate, past the Outgate Inn. When you reach the minor road, turn left and follow it to the T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction and then right onto the footpath, which leads up Latterbarrow. A short sharp yomp up and then from the top there are panoramic views of the Lakeland fells and Windermere. Return the way you came or, if you're feeling more adventurous, take the path from the top heading towards Lake Windermere, down to High Wray and continue on to the shore of the lake and return as described in the previous walk.
